Colossians 2

Search the Scriptures; for in Them ye Think ye have Eternal Life: and They are They which Testify of ME

(John 5:39)

For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,

whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him, and for Him:

And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.   Colossians 1: 16 & 17

ALL ROADS LEAD TO COLOSSIANS” !

I do recognize that the saying is “ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME“. I know that, however, as I have often pointed out to my brothers and sisters in the Messiah that the Christian community at large has missed the boat on Sabbaths & other Appointed Times which our God calls a “delight.” Yet the world delights in Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and rest/relaxation on Sunday, the first day of the week on our calendars. The mantra which I hear over and over again is – “Those things (Sabbaths & Feast Days) were nailed to the cross” or “That was only for the Jews” or “We are no longer under the law.”

The reason I say that “ALL ROADS LEAD TO COLOSSIANS” is because Colossians 2:14-17 is used to eliminate God’s ways. Despite the warnings from the Saviour in Matthew 5:17-19 not to do so, we have used the Cross as a trash bin to throw away what does not fit into the dispensational theology of today.

Please consider “An Overvew of Colossians 2:13-17” below. There is much information contained in this one page outline of this passage. The scriptures to be considered are in the center. Boxes with supportive verses and statements surround this center area with red arrows pointing to the associated texts in the Colossians passage.

Keep in mind this passage written by the Apostle Peter as you investigate what was accomplished at Calvary: “Who his own self bare our SINS in his own body on the TREE, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 1Peter 2:24 “

I realize that there is much information crammed into this one space, however, if you will consider the many points supported with associated Bible texts, you too will discover that what we have been taught does not agree with Scripture.

The Mission of our Saviour was specifically to deal with sin (remember, He was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world Revelation 13:8 ?). Before I accepted Jesus, Yashua, as my Saviour I was already guilty, having broken God’s law Romans 6:23. Calvary’s cross did not eliminate God’s law, but I do thank Him because His death redeemed me from the penalty I deserved Romans 3:25, 1Johnn 2:2, and 1John 4:10.

I do welcome your Comments, pro or con. Please be sure to note that you are referring to the article on Colossians 2:13-17.

Yours in Him.  Caleb.
